The Discriminating Guide to Adventure on the Mendocino Coast

The annual Whale Run and Walk is great fun, and like past years will take place along the ocean, creating a spectacular view for participants. At our Mendocino Rotary meeting this week, we got a plea for volunteer help — about six in all are needed.

This 23rd Whale Run/Walk will be held on the Haul Road at MacKerricher State Park in Fort Bragg. Starts at 9 a.m. Volunteers will probably be needed at least an hour ahead.

If you’re interested in being a volunteer, send an email to Joyce Gilbertson at jgilbrsn@mnc.org. All proceeds go to Soroptimist International of Fort Bragg.

If you’re coming as a tourist and don’t know where to stay, contact the Mendocino Coast of Commerce at 707-961-6300 for recommendations.
