Shark Swarm and the Magic of Hollywood by bruce

There’s a two-part TV movie “Shark Swarm” filming on the coast. Darryl Hannah (of Splash fame) is one of the stars. An interesting change related to the movie filming happened in Mendocino Village on Monday. At 8 a.m. a new hotel appeared in mid-block on Main Street. I did a double-take. It was called the Full Moon Bay Hotel, founded 1881. After lunch today, however, the sign had disappeared and it was the Mendocino Hotel, founded 1879. Ah, the magic of Hollywood. Filming is supposed to continue in Fort Bragg and Mendocino over the next couple of weeks. Congratulations to Debra DeGraw for getting this film crew up here.  She’s worked long and hard.  Hope “Shark Swarm’s” success brings many new film companies here. Hooray.

Hi there!
We went and signed up to be extras in this movie, ” Shark Swarm” and so far, we have had a blast!
The people are really nice to be around, the stars, and the production people, and even the director, and others important to this production are all really wonderful people!
We have been in 2 days of extra shooting, and hope to be in the last day of extra shooting soon.
It IS exciting! for the moment, but it will be a life time of memories as well.
Cheers, Lisa Chiapero www.zenzoos.com

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your interest in “Shark Swarm”, a Hallmark two-part mini-series. We don’t know when it will be airing just yet. They have left Fort Bragg and are on their way to film in the Los Angeles area…yes, Hollywood magic will make it all come together and look like the same place, a coastside town named Full Moon Bay.

Once they have finished filming and completed their post-production they will let me know the air dates, and I will pass it on to you.

Sincerely,

Debra De Graw

What a treat it was to watch daryl hannah and john schneider film in our town. Can’t wait to see the finished mini series. Who was the beautiful young blond we all fell in love with playing their daughter? Whoever picked her hit the nail on the head….they looked like a real family.

I’ll check on it — haven’t heard it mentioned in several months. I’ll see if Debra at the Film Office knows.

I last inquired in February 2008 about the airing of Shark Swarm and as of April I have not heard anything about the airing date. Has anyone heard anything?

Gene,

I’ll check with Debra DeGraw at the Film Office again. I never heard back the last time.
