This has been a fabulous year for wild mushrooms. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, I hope you’re enjoying this year’s bountiful harvest. Fresh from the forest and onto your plate – it’s fun to see the creative ways chefs around town are serving up the delectable treat. Here’s one not to miss!

February 4: Romancing the Funghi
One might argue that it’s impossible to “romance” the lowly funghi but Littler River Inn’s Executive Chef Marc Dym and Wine Buyer John Sverko have come up with a romantic, intimate afternoon. This will be the third year for this popular tasting. Marc will create three succulent mushroom appetizers, all accompanied by local wines chosen by John, whose knowledgeable commentary is presented in a disarmingly delightful way. Marc joins the discussion, talking about his favorite kinds of mushrooms and answering questions. Proceeds benefit Fort Bragg Food Bank. Little River Inn, 3:00 pm Cost: $30
