Gualala Arts Center Fall Program Announced

The Gualala Arts Center has announced it fall line up for its various galleries. Check it out:
Burnett Gallery
Gualala Arts is presenting a free exhibit titled, “6 Blue Eyes” in the Burnett Gallery through October 5. The exhibit will feature the alternative photographic images o Donna Fay Allen, Susan l-Nikel and Judy Yemma.
The show is a collection of photographic images, which utilize innovative and historic techniques such as Cyanotype, Van Dyke Brown and Kallitype. The three women photographers demonstrate a collaboration of effort and love for handcrafted art while maintaining an independence of vision. The images are all unique due to the nature of the process and some are truly one of a kind.
Jacob Foyer
Dorothy Weicker, paintings, and Susan Adamé, collage, will be showing in the Jacob Foyer at Gualala Arts Center through October 5. Free exhibit.
Dolphin Gallery (an associate store of Gualala Arts)

Along with fine art and sculpture the Dolphin Gallery has artisan items for every budget.
The Dolphin Gallery will be showing work of some artists who participated in the 2008 Studio Discovery Tour through October 1. If you missed the tour, or would like to take another look at these talented artists please drop by.
Lecture
Five Gualala Arts members, who journeyed to Cusco in the spring of 2007 to learn the story of Nilda Callañaupa, will recount in a photo lecture titled Andean Textiles, Machu Picchu, and Much More what they discovered about colonial history of the area, about Inca ruins, about Andean village life, and about a remarkable woman. A $5 donation is requested for the Monday, September 15 lecture at 7PM.

Lecture
Gualala Arts will have a lecture featuring Don Kemp’s motorcycle trip through Alaska on Monday, September 22 at 7:00 p.m. A $5 donation is requested.
Dance Performance
Gualala Arts Local Eyes will present “The Tristan Codas” on Friday, September 26, 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 7:00 p.m.) at the Gualala Arts Center, the premiere of a new work by Paces, the collaborative company of Lucinda Weaver, dancer/choreographer, and Alan Bern, poet. The evening length piece includes music from the Austrian composer, Klaus Ager and live saxophone by Harrison Goldberg. Ticket prices are Adult: $12 advance, $3 more day of performance, Ages 7-17: $8 advance, $2 more day of performance. Visa and MC available at GualalaArts.org.
Volunteer Party
The Gualala Arts staff is inviting all the volunteers over the past 10 years to “A Big Thanks . . . “, a party with a four course strolling meal on Sunday, October 5 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Gualala Arts Center. Please RSVP 884-1138 or info@GualalaArts by Friday, September 26.

To be included in the Local Artists section of GualalaArts.org, you must be a full or part time resident in our area and a member of Gualala Arts or one of the affiliate groups.
Mail or bring in a completed Local Artist application form (available on the website), along with a check for $50, payable to Gualala Arts. Your web page will remain on our website as long as you maintain your membership. A program is also available for artists who have their own website. On the GualalaArts.org home page check the left menu, click Local Artists for additional information and application.
