First Annual North Coast Acappella Summit

On Friday, September 30 at 7:30pm, Gloriana Musical Theatre presents a new event you won’t want to miss. Using only their voices as instruments, five talented vocal groups come together for your pleasure.
The groups are: RIVER, ECLECTICA, IN THE MIX, SINE NOMINE, and EARREVERENCE. These groups will cover a wide range of styles — you can see the songs list on the event program.
This is a benefit for Gloriana Musical Theatre with a suggested donation of $15. The concert is in Fort Bragg at the First Baptist Church, corner of Pine and Franklin streets, across from the North Coast Brewing Co. For more information, call 964-7469 or visit the Gloriana Web site.
A lot of musical talent is represented in these groups! I sing in 2 of the groups, and it’s a real pleasure to sing with so many excellent musicians.

One of the most popular romantic comedies of the century, it also remains one of the world’s most widely produced plays. The plot follows a love affair between two people, Doris and George, married to others, who rendezvous once a year for a quarter of a century. Twenty-five years of manners and morals are hilariously and touchingly played out by the lovers, in this ageless romantic comedy. Produced by the Mendocino Theatre Company written by Bernard Slade and directed by Milo Young and Jerry Greenberg.

Second Saturday Artist Reception for Beth Seaward

The Second Saturday event for September 10, 2011 is an artist reception at Mendocino Jewelry Studio for Beth Seaward. The gallery features Beth’s paintings on silk and glass of coastal and valley scenery, such as “Sun for a Moment” featured here.
Mendocino Jewelry Studio is located at 45104 Main Street in Mendocino. The reception is from 5-7pm on September 10, 2011.
Art Exhibit Sneak Preview

This month, you can get a sneak preview of the some of the artists that will be featured in the Artists Open Studio Tour taking place September 17-18 & 24-25, as well as the North Coast Artists’ Guild’s Studio Discovery Tour on September 3-5 & 10-11. Dozens of artists will display an array of pieces including stained glass; metal, wood and marble sculpture; jewelry; furniture; photography; fiber arts; woodblock prints; ceramics; and paintings.
