18220 North Highway One, Fort Bragg, 707-964-435. All walks are free and start at the Gardens entrance. (Open 7 days a week 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

- Beginning Birding: First Saturday of the month @ 9 a.m. with the Mendocino Coast Audubon Society
- Early Bird Walk: Third Wednesday of the month @ 8 a.m. with the Mendocino Coast Audubon Society
- Birds in the Gardens: Fourth Monday of the month @ 1:30 p.m. with Garden staff
Nesting Birds of the Mendocino Coast: Whimbrel; Sanderling; Marbled Godwit; Western Sandpiper; Killdeer; Snowy Plover.
Some Common Birds of the Mendocino Coast: mallards, wood ducks, oystercatchers, Great Blue Herons, hummingbirds, ravens, woodpeckers.
Aside from DFF: Here’s a Spotted Owl. I took this last fall in my yard, well, in the wild part of the yard. There’s also a Yahoo Group devoted to Mendocino County birding.
