We do have poison oak, but no poison ivy. Some areas have more of it — it seems like mixed forests have the most, whereas you don’t see it much in the pure redwood forests. And most coastal headland areas are free of it, at least in the places I’ve walked. Out in the Jackson Forest, or along Big River, you can definitely find it. I’ve never gotten into it from biking or hiking in those areas, though, although a stinging nettle got me once on the leg on a bike ride. Ouch!
