(Weather permitting) Walk begins at the Big River Kiosk located at the eastern end of the Big River Beach parking lot south of Mendocino. Walks cover a total of two to four miles, are moderately paced and last for one to two hours. Anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult. July 11-25: 23rd Season of the Mendocino Music Festival
2 weeks of music of all genres, presented in a huge tent erected on the Mendocino Headlands. Performers include: Maria Muldaur, Alexander Markov, The Scene, Iva Bittova with Antonin Faijt, Alex de Grassi, and the Joshua Redman Trio. The opera this year is La Boheme. The Piano Series features concerts by Paul Hersh, Gloria Cheng, and Joel Fan. There are many more musical events during the two weeks.
July 15 at 7 pm: “Danny and the Deep Blue Sea”

2009 Grammy winner for an Instrumental Soloist Performance (without orchestra) for her Telarc recording of the Piano Music of Salonen, Stucky & Lutoslawski. Hit and Run veterans Jill Jahelka, Doug Nunn, Kathy O’Grady, and Steve Weingarten will be joined by Steve Antler and musician Laura Derry for an evening of improvisational comedy.
