Paul Bunyan Days 2008
This is an old-time event that is fun for the whole family. Stand in awe at the logging show, where professionals and amatures compete for $10,000 in prizes in the Axe Throw, Single Buck Handsaw, Hand Chopping, Pole Climb, and Chain Saw Bucking. Paul Bunyan, band and drill teams, and this year’s “Belle of the Redwoods” are among the highlights of the parade.
You can dance to live music at the Fireman’s Ball, the Blue Ox Beer Fest or the Big Brothers/Big Sisters BBQ. Then, for a slower pace, browse the Soroptimist craft fair or try your luck at horseshoes. The world’s oldest, Ugly Dog Contest, also includes categories for Dog & Master Look-alike, Smartest Dog, Best Frisbee Dog, Smallest Dog, Largest Dog and Prettiest Dog.
